The photographs must be:
– taken by a commercial photographer

Passport & Visa Photo Requirements
4 passport-size photos

The following is the list of regulations regarding passport-style photographs
Four (4) 2 x 2 inches in size, taken within the past 6 months.
The image size from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head should be between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches.
The photographs may be in color or black and white.
They must be full face, front view with a plain white or off-white background.
Photographs should be taken in normal street attire, without a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline.
Uniforms should not be worn in photographs.
If  a hearing device, wig or similar articles are normally and consistently worn, they should be worn when the picture is taken.
If you choose to submit digitized photos, they must meet the same requirements of all passport photographs. In addition, digitized photographs are always produced on digital printers. Some printers will produce a photograph in which the dots are seen. Visible dots distort the image by making it look grainy. Acceptable photos have a continuous tone image that looks very photo-like.

Vending Machine photos are NOT acceptable.
Homemade Digital Photographs are not acceptable.

Passport Photo Requirements
Two recent photographs of the applicant (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)
Photographs should be portrait-style and the applicant should not, as a rule, be wearing any headgear.
Headgear may be permitted for religious or medical reasons provided that the face is completely visible.
The forehead, cheeks, eyes, nose and chin should not be obstructed in any way. Preferably, but not necessarily, the hair and ears should also be exposed. On the photograph, the head should occupy a minimum area of 2.5 cm and a maximum of 3.5 cm. The background should be light and uniform. The first name and surname of the applicant should be written clearly on the back of the photograph. Photographs must be in color  black-and-white photographs are no longer acceptable

Identity Card Photo Requirements
Two passport photographs must be recent and of excellent quality. The photos should measure 35 x 45 mm. The length of the face (hair included) should be no smaller than 25 mm or longer than 35 mm. The background should be one light uniform color (white, light grey, light yellow or light blue). Photos with shadows or color changes are not acceptable.

• The Singapore passport authorities state that the photos must be sharp and clear

The Korea is one of the leading economic powers in Asia. It is steadily advancing technologically and scientifically, step by step with other rapidly growing countries. Korea is a place rich of culture and diversity, and is now respected all over the world for its rapidly growing industries. If you are living in Korea and you want to apply for a passport, you need to submit your application along with two identical colored passport photographs other than the desired documents.

There are certain norms that need to be fulfilled for the photographs. The photograph with white background should not be more than six months old and the measurement of the photograph should be of 3.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm high. The face should display the front of the applicant measuring approximately 2.5 cm wide and 3.5 cm high. The hats, head-gear, and sunglasses are strictly not allowed. While applying for the extension of the validity one year before or after the expiry date of the current passport, you are required to submit one color passport photo. The remaining requirements the about size and composition of the photograph are same as for the new application photograph.

In case of applying for a travel certificate, 2 colored identical photographs have to be submitted all other requirements being similar to the photographs for new passport. Beside passport photographs, all applicants are required to furnish their exact residential number of Korea along with their permanent residential address in country. Otherwise, they are required to submit their Family Census Register. Male applicants between the ages of 18 and 35 years have to submit the proof of extension from military services. However, those who have completed their military service are not required to submit this document.

If you are applying by mail, you are required to send the application enclosed with all documents and a stamped envelope with a return address. Do not forget to mention your preferred mailing service for the secure arrival of your passport.

If you are a foreign national and want to apply for Korean visa, you have to furnish 1 recent colored photograph measuring 50 X 50 mm along with copy of your passport and other documents.

  • The digital photo provided for upload cannot be less than 715 pixels wide and 951 pixels high.
  • Provide the digital photo in JPEG file format for the customer to upload when making their online application.
  • There must be no compression, loss or compression artefacts in the JPEG.
  • Passport Online will not accept upload of a file larger than 9MB.

Pose and Visual Aspects

  • Photos must be in sharp focus and correctly exposed.
  • Background must be plain and a light colour grey, white or cream.
  • Shadows from the head must not appear in the background.
  • Good colour balance and natural skin tones are essential.
  • Red eye in photographs is not acceptable.
  • Must not contain barrel or other distortion.
  • A clear contrast is needed between facial features and background
  • Forward facing and looking directly at the camera.
  • Digital enhancements or changes are not acceptable.
  • Subject must have a neutral expression, not smiling and with mouth closed.
  • The face must be in full view.
  • No headwear unless worn for religious purposes.
  • No hats, hood, scarf or hair accessories.
  • Hair should not hide any part of the face.
  • Sunglasses must not be worn.
  • Transparent glasses may be worn so long as the frames don’t cover any part of the eye or cause glare or shadows.

PHOTOS D’IDENTITE : 10 règles à respecter !
1 – La photo doit mesurer 35 mm de large sur 45 mm de haut. La taille du visage doit être de 32 à 36 mm, du bas du menton au sommet du crâne (hors chevelure).2 – La photo doit être nette, sans pliure, ni traces.

3 – La photo ne doit présenter ni sur-exposition, ni sous-exposition. Elle doit être correctement contrastée, sans ombre portée sur le visage ou en arrière-plan. Une photo en couleur est fortement recommandée.

4 – Le fond doit être uni, de couleur claire (bleu clair, gris clair) . Le blanc est interdit.

5 – La tête doit être nue, les couvre-chefs sont interdits.

6 – Le sujet doit présenter son visage face à l’objectif. La tête doit être droite.

7 – Le sujet doit fixer l’objectif. Il doit adopter une expression neutre et avoir la bouche fermée.

8 – Le visage doit être dégagé. Les yeux doivent être parfaitement visibles et ouverts.

9 – Les montures épaisses sont interdites. La monture ne doit pas masquer les yeux. Les verres teintés (ou colorés) sont interdits. Il ne doit pas y avoir de reflets sur les lunettes.

10 – La prise de vue doit être récente et ressemblante au jour du dépôt de la demande et de retrait du titre. Les photographies doivent être réalisées par un professionnel ou dans une cabine photo, utilisant un système agréé par le ministère de l’intérieur. Nouvelle norme relative à l’apposition des photographies d’identité sur les documents d’identité et de voyage français, notamment les cartes nationales d’identité et les passeports, ainsi que sur les permis de conduire et les titres de séjour pour étrangers. PICTURES OF IDENTITY: 10 rules to follow!

Photographs must be performed by a professional or in a photo booth, using a system approved by the Ministry of Interior.
